Pain comes and goes during our lives everyone experiences it. It is our bodies natural instinct to cause pain letting us know we should take it easy or seek help. Different types of pain equate to different injuries or disorders; they are the symptoms that provide doctors with valuable clues to recommend the right kind of treatment program to a client. A well-informed patient can make better decisions for their health. For this reason below I provide you with valuable information of common types of pain.
Back Pain
Back pain is a dibilatating issue that anyone can have, wether it is acute or chronic pain it prevents anyone from caring out their daily tasks with ease. Causes of back pain can be mechanical problems, spasms, muscle tension, ruptured discs, sprains, and fractures can cause back pain. The most painful causes of back pain can be sciatica and herniated discs. Sciatica is pain affecting the back, hip, and outer side of the leg, caused by compression of a spinal nerve root in the lower back. This often means that degeneration of the intervertebral disc has taken place, the discs are located between the vertebrae of the spine and break down with age. Herniated disc is a disc in the spine that protrudes out causing pain and discomfort. If the slipped disk compresses a spinal nerve, one may experience numbness and pain along the affected nerve. It is most common in the lower back and can cause leg pain. Back pain is a very common issue that my clients face.
Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain can be aggrevating for the reason that it can prevent us from accomplishing many daily tasks in our busy work days. Pushing, lifting, and pulling are basic functions that are limited when dealing with shoulder pain. Some causes of shoulder pain can be bursitis (swelling of the bursa sacs, which protect the shoulder), tendonitis (swelling of the tendons), arthritis, and torn cartilage. I treat a variety of patients that deal with shoulder pain.
Wrist Pain
Wrist pain can be caused by disease or injury affecting any aspect of the wrist joint, including the bones, ligaments, and connective tissue surrounding the area. Joint pain is medically known as arthralgia. Pain is a feature of joint inflammation (arthritis) that may occur in the wrist. I have treatments that can help diminish and rid wrist pain.
Arm Pain
Arm pain can be due to actual injury and tissue damage to the arm. Golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow relates to arm pain because tendonitis (inflammation of the tendons) takes place in the elbow. Arm pain is not always directly involved with the arm. Nerve compressions in the spine can actually cause pain and numbness in the arms depending on the location of the pinched nerves. I treat patients with arm pain and with several treatments the pain in the arm dissipates.
Foot Pain
Foot pain can be irritating especially if one is constantly walking. Foot pain can cause knee pain so it’s best to treat it as soon as possible. Injury, overuse, or conditions causing inflammation involving any of the bones, ligaments or tendons in the foot can cause foot pain. Arthritis is a common cause of foot pain. Injury to the nerves of the feet may result in intense burning pain, numbness or tingling. I have a variety of modalities to treat foot pain and get you walking pain free.
Ankle Pain
Pain in the ankle might be related to tendons (tendinitis), a sprain or strain, which occurs when the ankle joint is subjected to forceful twisting or bending. This can cause an ankle ligament to stretch or even tear. Sprains and strains can happen at any moment playing sports or walking on an uneven surface. Here at Jaureguito Sports & Family Chiropractic, PLLC I can help stop the pain and help you get moving again.
Muscle Pain
Muscles are a very important component in our bodies they create force and give us the ability to produce motion. A strained muscle is the result of torn fibers from overstretching and can result in pain and stiffness. Overuse, using a muscle too much, too soon, too often can lead to muscle pain. I treat many patients with muscle pain, it is nothing out of the ordinary that I can’t treat.
Neck Pain
Causes of neck pain include abnormalities in the bone or joints, trauma (whiplash), poor posture, degenerative disease, and muscle strains. Neck pain is a common source of pain along side with the lower back. Treatment is recommended to dissipate neck pain.
Knee Pain
Knee pain can be caused by injuries, mechanical problems, and types of arthritis, but by receiving treatments one can achieve mobility at a faster pace.
